Blessedness of God's Forgiveness
Bishop Josephat W. Mukemi | 17 September 2023
In his sermon on 'The blessedness of God's forgiveness,' Bishop Mukemi emphasized the significance of living in honesty and finding peace through God's grace, citing Psalm 32:1-11. He underscored how confession and seeking forgiveness lead to the joy of God's grace. Referring to Isaiah 53:4-5, he highlighted Jesus' sacrificial forgiveness, granting believers redemption. Psalm 1:1 stressed the blessings of upright living, emphasizing scriptural guidance for righteousness. Romans 4:15 highlighted the need for scriptural principles to deter transgression. Bishop Mukemi cautioned against sin's consequences, citing Genesis 20:1-9 and Exodus 32:1-4. He noted that righteousness, as in Joseph's case (Genesis 44:16), exalts individuals, while sin reproaches nations (Proverbs 14:34). Overall, he urged trust in God, righteousness, and embracing God's grace to unlock blessings.
